Senior Estimator / Product & Solutions Manager – Windows & Doors

MT Windows & Doors is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator / Product & Solutions Manager to join our team.
n
This is a senior technical and commercial role for someone who has strong experience in the aluminium windows and doors industry and understands not only how to price a project, but also how to identify the best product and technical solution for the customer.
n
We are looking for someone who can act as the technical link between our estimating team, sales team, project team and customers.
n
The Role
n
You will be responsible for reviewing quotations, providing product and technical advice, and helping our sales team and customers develop the most suitable window and door solutions for their projects.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Review and check quotations prepared by the estimating team for accuracy, completeness and commercial viability
n
Review architectural drawings, window schedules, specifications and project requirements
n
Recommend appropriate window and door systems based on customer requirements, design, performance and budget
n
Identify alternative solutions where the original specification may be unnecessarily expensive, difficult to
manufacture/install,
or unsuitable for the application
n
Provide technical and product support to the sales team during the quotation and tender process
n
Communicate directly with builders, architects and customers to understand their requirements and recommend practical solutions
n
Assist with complex or high-value quotations and projects
n
Identify potential technical, compliance,



installation or commercial risks before quotations are submitted
n
Review product selections, glass requirements, hardware and system configurations
n
Support continuous improvement of our estimating processes, product knowledge and pricing standards
n
Help train and develop estimators and sales staff in product knowledge and solution selling
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on industry experience.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Minimum 5+ years' experience in aluminium windows and doors, façade, glazing or a closely related industry
n
Strong experience in estimating, product selection, technical sales or project management
n
Excellent knowledge of aluminium window and door systems
n
Solid understanding of glass, hardware and window/door configurations
n
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and window schedules
n
Good understanding of Australian Standards and relevant building requirements
n
Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance performance, cost, buildability and customer requirements
n
Ability to identify problems and propose practical alternative solutions
n
Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with builders, architects and customers
n




High attention to detail
n
Ability to review and challenge quotations rather than simply process them
n
n
