Brisbane Support Office | Monday to Friday | Remuneration up to $170,000
Brisbane-based position with no roster or regular site rotation
Work on major civil and energy infrastructure tenders
Join an established estimating team with a strong project pipeline
A strong estimate is more than a collection of rates.
It requires someone who understands how civil construction work will actually be delivered—and can turn drawings, specifications and project risks into a explicit, accurate and commercially sound submission.
We are representing a leading contractor delivering major civil and energy infrastructure projects across Queensland. With a strong pipeline of opportunities, the business is seeking a capable Civil Estimator to join its Brisbane Support Office.
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will work as part of an experienced pre-contracts team preparing budgets, estimates, tenders and proposals for complex civil construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with approximately three years' experience who is ready to take greater ownership of tenders without moving into a senior management position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with approximately three years' experience who is ready to take greater ownership of tenders without moving into a senior management position.
The role
You will be involved throughout the estimating and tender process, from the initial review of project documentation through to submission, clarification and handover to the delivery team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing preliminary budgets and detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and client documentation
Developing first-principles estimates covering labour, materials, plant and subcontracted works
Preparing compliant, accurate and commercially competitive tenders and proposals
Completing quantity take-offs and interpreting civil engineering drawings
Reviewing tender documentation to identify scope gaps, risks, opportunities and contractual considerations
Compiling assumptions, qualifications and exclusions for tender submissions
Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor pricing
Identifying alternative construction methodologies and cost-effective delivery options
Supporting post-tender clarifications and responding to client queries
Contributing to tender reviews, commercial discussions and bid strategy
Preparing detailed handover packages for successful tenders
Maintaining estimating data and incorporating lessons learned from current and completed projects
Supporting improvements to estimating systems, processes and tender documentation
About you
You will be a commercially aware Civil Estimator who combines technical accuracy with a practical understanding of construction delivery.
To be considered, you will bring:
Approximately three years' experience in civil construction estimating
Demonstrated experience using Expert Estimation software
Experience estimating civil, utilities, pipelines, resources or energy infrastructure works
The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contractual documentation
An understanding of construction methodology, productivity, labour, plant and material costs
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capability
A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet fixed tender deadlines
This is not a senior leadership appointment. It is ideally suited to an established Estimator who has developed a solid technical foundation and now wants broader exposure to substantial infrastructure tenders within a supportive, experienced team.
The chance
You will join a well-established infrastructure contractor with a strong pipeline of long-term work and the resources to pursue significant projects.
The position offers:
A permanent, Monday-to-Friday role based in Brisbane
Remuneration up to $170,000, depending on experience
Exposure to complex civil and energy infrastructure projects
Direct support from an experienced Estimating Manager
The opportunity to develop your commercial and technical estimating capability
A stable business with an established project delivery record
Applications will be treated in strict confidence.
