Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Enrolled Nurse role based in Hervey Bay, QLD (Sponsorship will be considered for qualified candidates, not guaranteed). The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct nursing care to residents, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications within scope of practice, assisting with personal care, and supporting activities of daily living. The role includes implementing care plans, documenting clinical observations accurately, and promptly reporting changes in health status to the Registered Nurse and care team. The Enrolled Nurse will work collaboratively with colleagues, residents, and families to promote comfort, safety, and wellbeing, while adhering to infection prevention, clinical policies, and regulatory standards. Participation in handover, quality improvement activities, and ongoing professional development is expected.
QualificationsCurrent Enrolled Nurse qualification and registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).Minimum 1 year full time work experience required.Demonstrated experience in aged care or a similar clinical environment, with understanding of geriatric care and dementia-friendly practice.Strong clinical skills in basic assessments, medication administration within scope, wound care support, and infection control.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build respectful relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.Ability to work safely in a fast-paced workplace, prioritize tasks, and follow care plans and clinical procedures accurately.Commitment to person-centered care, resident rights, and culturally safe practice, including sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.Competence in using electronic health records and basic computer systems for documentation and care coordination.Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, in line with service requirements.Up-to-date vaccinations and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements; CPR and first aid certification are desirable.Sponsorship options will be considered for suitable candidates, not guaranteed.
