About the Role
n
We're looking for a friendly and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our welcoming front desk team at Rockhampton Base Hospital.
n
As the first point of contact, you'll play a vital role in supporting inpatients and outpatients accessing a full range of imaging services - from X-ray, Ultrasound, CT to MRI and Interventional Procedures.
n
This is a Monday to Friday role, rostered between 6.30am and 6pm, with the option to work a 9 day fortnight giving you the work-life balance you deserve.

A Day in the Life
n
n
Greeting patients and creating a welcoming first impression
n
Managing bookings, billing, and payments (Medicare, health funds, EFTPOS)
n
Working closely with Medical/Surgical wards and our technical team
n
Inpatient procedure and CT Injection bookings
n
Coordinating with referrers and doctors for appointments and results
n
Attending staff meetings and ongoing training sessions
n
Maintaining compliance with workplace health & safety and company policies
n

About You
n
You'll Thrive In This Role If You Have




n
n
Previous experience in healthcare reception (Medical Imaging, Dental, Allied Health or similar) - highly regarded
n
A professional, approachable, and confident communication style - in person and over the phone
n
Knowledge of medical terminology or practice management systems (an advantage)
n
A collaborative, proactive attitude and high integrity
n
A well-presented and patient-focused approach
n
Excellence in customer service delivery in order to exceed patient and referrer expectations.
n
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to show patients care, compassion, and empathy
n
Excellent attention to detail to ensure patient confidentiality
n
Excellent interpersonal skills to assist in building partnerships and fostering cooperative relationships across the business.
n
Detailed analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Strong attention to detail and focus on completing high quality work
