The Technical Business Analyst is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex work and provide leadership within the
Data & Analytics transformation program
.
The role collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to define, document, and deliver high-quality business and technical requirements aligned to target architecture and business outcomes. Additionally, the Technical Business Analyst acts as a key liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring solutions meet both operational needs and strategic objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
Lead the development of
business and technical requirements
, ensuring alignment to program objectives
Develop and maintain
traceability frameworks
linking deliverables to business outcomes
Elicit, analyse, and document
business requirements, data flows, and process models
(current and future state)
Translate business needs into
technical specifications and solution designs
Facilitate
stakeholder workshops, meetings, and working groups
Review solution designs to ensure alignment with requirements and expected outcomes
Provide input into the
design and implementation of data and analytics solutions
Collaborate across
business, technical and vendor teams
to deliver integrated outcomes dependant on business priorities
Essential criteria




Demonstrated expertise leading business and technical requirements development within large-scale data and analytics programs
Experience implementing cloud data platforms and/or analytics solutions, including data architecture (data models, ETL, governance, security)
Proven ability to document complex data flows and business processes
Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Practical experience working in Agile delivery environments, including epics, user stories, and backlog management
Desirable criteria
Experience working across multi-vendor and complex delivery environments, with the ability to navigate integrated technology landscapes
Experience operating within Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum Master responsibilities or facilitating Agile ceremonies
Experience with analytics platforms (e.g. SAS Viya) and data environments, including exposure to enterprise data and reporting solutions
Proficiency in data analysis and technical tooling, including SQL, Python, or similar technologies to support data-driven outcomes
