We are seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Inspector to join a Queensland Government client servicing the Central Queensland region. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of government-owned buildings and assets, providing critical information to support maintenance planning and asset management decisions. It is your choice to be based either Mackay or Rockhampton.
About the Role
As a building maintenance inspector, you will undertake inspections of government facilities across Central Queensland to identify maintenance requirements, asset condition issues, and potential risks. Your assessments will contribute to ensuring government assets remain protected, functional, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections of government buildings and associated assets
- Identify defects, deterioration, maintenance requirements, and potential risks
- Prepare detailed condition assessment reports and supporting documentation
- Update asset management and inspection records accurately
- Provide technical input to support maintenance planning and prioritisation activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience assessing building conditions and identifying maintenance requirements within built assets.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current unrestricted C Class Driver Licence
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Central Queensland region
Highly Desirable
- Relevant trade, technical, building, or construction-related qualification
- Experience in building inspections, maintenance assessments, asset condition auditing, or a related field
- Experience working within government, property maintenance, social infrastructure, facilities management,
or asset management environments
Travel Requirements
This position involves frequent travel across the Central Queensland region to undertake inspections and condition assessments.
Candidates must be comfortable with:
- Regular regional travel
- Frequent overnight stays
- Being away from home Monday to Friday when required
- Occasional weekend travel depending on operational and service delivery requirements
