Your new role:

- To provide high quality care that is customer focused to the patient/clients and carers of The Sutherland Hospital
- Communicate effectively and with respect at all times
- To work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health team care delivery
- Act as advocate to establish and maintain patients' autonomy
- To maintain and promote a professional standard of practice, adherence to the policies and standards of SESLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations
- Assist with patient care as directed by nursing staff e.g. patient lifting, showering and personal care
- Transport patients to and from treatment and diagnostic areas as required, using a bed mover if patient is transported in a bed
- Assist Nursing Staff with the transfer of deceased patients to the Mortuary

Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated effective communication skills.
2. Ability to function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and unsupervised.
3. Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills.
4. Demonstrated effective problem solving skills.
5. Sound understanding of and commitment to Work Health and Safety Procedures.
6. Possession of a current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain.
