What you'll do

As the Administration Officer, you will provide high-level administrative and data entry support within a fast-paced forensic environment, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of sensitive case information, legal documentation, and confidential records. You will support Pathologists and Forensic Pathology staff by monitoring case workflows, coordinating the transfer and registration of cases, and maintaining accurate records to support service delivery and KPI reporting. Working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, including police officers, funeral directors, coroners, court staff, and healthcare professionals, you will build effective relationships and respond professionally to enquiries, including those from potentially distressed relatives and friends of deceased persons. You will contribute to continuous improvement by monitoring internal processes, identifying opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency, maintaining standard operating procedures and training resources, and managing competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met. Your strong attention to detail, customer service focus, and ability to work with a range of computer systems will be essential to supporting the delivery of high-quality forensic pathology services.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and a high level of accurate keyboard and data entry skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal, consultation, written and verbal communication skills, in particular, tact, discretion, sensitivity, confidentiality and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritise tasks and work in a high-volume environment both autonomously and as a team member.
- Knowledge of,



or ability to acquire knowledge of the relevant policies and processes governed by the Coroners Act 2003.
- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of a range of software applications that relate to Forensic Pathology.
