The opportunity
Our client is a successful and growing professional services group with an ambitious strategy for continued expansion. As the organisation enters its next phase of growth, they are seeking an experienced and highly engaged Operations Manager to strengthen how new businesses are integrated, major projects are delivered and practices operate across the Group.

This is an operations role with genuine scope and influence. You will work across the organisation, taking significant business priorities from idea to implementation and ensuring they translate into practical, measurable outcomes.

Based in Melbourne, you will initially report to the Chief Operating Officer, with the role expected to transition to the General Manager as the organisation continues to build its management team. You will work closely with Group leadership, Practice Managers and office team leaders to embed new processes and support more consistent, scalable ways of working.

What you will do
With acquisition integration and project delivery as your primary focus, you will:

- Lead the operational integration of newly acquired practices.
- Develop integration plans, milestones, governance and implementation schedules.
- Coordinate activity across people, systems, finance, technology, premises and practice operations.
- Lead major operational projects from planning through to completion.
- Maintain visibility of actions, risks, dependencies and decisions required.
- Create repeatable integration frameworks, templates and playbooks.
- Map and standardise legal and administrative workflows across the Group.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and AI-enabled processes.
- Improve productivity, system utilisation, cost efficiency and service delivery.
- Develop practical SOPs,



checklists and process documentation.
- Measure the impact of projects and operational improvements.

What you will bring

You will bring:

- Strong project management and end-to-end delivery capability.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
- The ability to create structure within evolving or inconsistent environments.
- Strong process improvement, workflow and systems capability.
- Confidence working with technology, automation and emerging AI solutions.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability without direct authority.
- A practical approach that combines strategic thinking with hands-on implementation.
- Energy, curiosity and the confidence to challenge existing ways of working constructively.

Experience within legal services would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates from professional services operations, management consulting, business transformation, program or project management, operational excellence or multi-site service environments are encouraged to apply.
