RETAIL ASSISTANT – HI Designs

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Retail Assistant to join the team at HI Designs, one of our busy island retail stores. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for retail, sales and customer service to work in a unique resort environment while helping our guests find the perfect piece to remember their Hamilton Island experience.

Your Role

As a Retail Assistant at HI Designs, you'll provide friendly and professional service while supporting the day-to-day operation of the store. From assisting guests and driving sales to merchandising and maintaining store presentation, you'll help create an enjoyable shopping experience for every customer.

Where you’ll make an impact

- Deliver exceptional customer service to guests and visitors
- Assist customers with product selection and recommendations
- Maximise sales opportunities through confident and genuine upselling
- Maintain attractive visual merchandising and product displays
- Replenish stock and ensure products are presented to a high standard
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures
- Maintain a clean,



organised and welcoming retail environment
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Support other Hamilton Island retail outlets when required

What we’re looking for

You are a friendly and confident retail skilled who enjoys connecting with customers and creating positive shopping experiences. You bring energy, excellent presentation and a proactive approach to achieving sales while contributing positively to the wider retail team.

To be successful, you will need:

- Valid Open Driver Licence (Essential)
- Previous retail experience
- Strong passion for customer service and the retail industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Impeccable personal presentation
- Strong sales and customer engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to shifts, weekends and public holidays
