The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and optimise end-to-end supply chain operations, from strategic procurement to final delivery. Operating within a highly regulated environment, this role balances daily operational execution, such as material planning and inventory control, with long-term strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, lead a high-performing team, manage complex vendor relationships, and ensure full compliance with international and domestic trading frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Strategy Alignment: Develop and execute end-to-end supply chain strategies that support broader business growth and financial objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster an active continuous improvement culture across all procurement, inventory, and supply chain functions to elevate operational performance and customer service.
- New Product Development: Support R&D; functions of the business through insight and strategies regarding the supply chain aspects of new commercial opportunities.
- ERP Ownership: Own and drive the continuous development of ERP-based supply chain processes to improve information accuracy and operational excellence.
- People Development: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Warehousing team.
Operations & Inventory Management
- Production: Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Production, and Finance to ensure a fit-for-purpose supply chain that hits production milestones.
- Inventory Optimisation: Lead multi-site supply and demand planning to optimise working capital, stock turn performance,
and overall inventory investment.
- Risk & Continuity: Proactively identify supply chain risks, shortages, or delays, and execute robust recovery plans and contingency strategies.
- Data-Driven Insights: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse operational data, and deliver meaningful performance reporting to senior leadership.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Supplier Performance: Oversee domestic and international vendor relations, actively managing contracts, delivery schedules, and material availability.
- Compliance Management: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards, navigating complex customs regulations and import / export controls.
Key Selection Criteria / Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Industry Background: 7+ years proven experience working in supply chain roles within manufacturing or engineering environments.
- Leadership Track Record: Significant leadership experience steering multi-site or national supply chain and logistics.
- Commercial Acumen: Robust financial grounding with success in managing inventory, demand forecasting, and stock management.
- System Expertise: Hands-on proficiency using ERP/MRP systems for material planning and reporting.
- Regulatory Compliance: Practical familiarity with handling customs, export controls, and domestic/international trade compliance.

- Proactive Drive: A self-starting, proactive personality capable of anticipating bottlenecks before they impact production.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence operational teams, global vendors, and senior executives alike.
