The Team

Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Radiation Therapist for this key leadership position at the WP Holman Clinic, Hobart, Tasmania. The Clinic has 2 Varian linear accelerators, Canon CT simulator, Eclipse planning system and a Gulmay superficial x-ray unit. Radiation Therapy techniques currently in use at the WP Holman Clinic include IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & SRT.

The Holman Clinic is part of the Cancer and Blood Services stream at the Royal Hobart Hospital, which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Southern Tasmania.

The Role

The Supervisor Radiation Therapist will supervise the professional and technical standards and operation of either the radiation therapy treatment or planning areas.

They will provide leadership and guidance to Radiation Therapists delivering treatment and planning, ensuring high levels of patient care and staff engagement.

You will need to

- Direct and coordinate the workload in either the treatment or planning areas. Ensure the safe, effective and efficient operation of either the radiation therapy planning area or treatment area.
- Actively participate in the delivery and planning of clinical radiation therapy.
- Direct quality assurance procedures in the treatment and planning areas. Identify areas for quality improvement and in liaison with the Deputy/Chief Radiation Therapist, participate in formulation, development and implementation of new techniques and protocols.

Details of appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as is practically possible

Salary

$147,716 to $154,705 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with the Radiation Therapists Agreement, 2025

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. (delete if no access)

Radiation Therapist

- A market allowance of 10% of the base salary is applicable to this role.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.





- Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
