About the role
The Health Practitioner - Senior (Personality Disorder Specialist) provides specialised, evidence-based assessment, treatment and consultation services for consumers with personality disorder and complex mental health presentations within Metro North Mental Health ASPIRES and Therapies. Working within a multidisciplinary workplace, the role supports the delivery of contemporary, recovery-focused and trauma-informed care across a tiered continuum of mental health services.
The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver specialised treatment programs, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), while providing expert clinical consultation and support to mental health teams across Metro North Mental Health. The role also contributes to service development, workforce capability, clinical leadership and quality improvement initiatives that promote best-practice care for consumers with personality disorder and their families and carers.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide high-level discipline-specific assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for consumers with personality disorder and complex comorbid mental health presentations.
- Coordinate and deliver specialised treatment programs including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Provide expert clinical consultation,
education and advice to multidisciplinary teams, clinicians and stakeholders regarding the assessment and management of personality disorder.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with consumers, carers, healthcare providers and external agencies to support recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care.
- Lead and contribute to service development, research, quality improvement, supervision and workforce development initiatives that enhance outcomes for consumers with personality disorder.
