Job description:

About the role

Location: Beechworth Correctional Centre
Role Type: 0.2 FTE ongoing, flexible with the day
Remuneration: starting at $ 94, 772.16 inclusive of 12% super pro-rata (dependent on qualifications)

As a Koorie Tutor, you will provide support to learners across different programs. This role is focused on helping learners engage with education, build confidence and participate meaningfully in class-based learning.

You will work closely with teachers across different courses to support learners with literacy, numeracy and learning needs. While this is not a classroom teaching role, you will play an important part in helping students feel supported, included and encouraged throughout their education journey.

Your role will include:

- Working alongside teachers to support learners in different program areas

- Supporting learners to build confidence and competence in education





- Assisting learners who may need additional support with literacy, numeracy or classroom participation

- Building trust and respectful relationships with learners, teachers and key stakeholders

- Contributing to a collaborative team focused on positive learner outcomes and safer communities

- Creating a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learner needs

- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work respectfully with diverse learner groups

- Experience working with communities, education programs, learner support or similar settings

- Robust interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with learners

- Confidence supporting learners with literacy, numeracy or classroom engagement needs

- Sound judgement, resilience and professionalism in a correctional setting

- Ability to support different learners and teachers as needed

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment completed
