Staff Specialist Radiologist

About the role

Deliver high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic and interventional radiology services. Work collaboratively with Emergency, inpatient, outpatient and multidisciplinary teams. Support teaching, supervision and professional development of junior medical staff. Contribute to the ongoing development and innovation of imaging services. Participate in clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

- Provide specialist diagnostic and interventional radiology services to patients across Tasmania

- Work within a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, registrars, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists and other healthcare professionals

- Contribute to statewide tertiary imaging services, including complex diagnostic and interventional radiology

- Mentor junior doctors and support registrar education and training

- Participate in an on-call roster

- Contribute to quality assurance, peer review, research and continuous service improvement

About you

- Specialist registration, or eligibility through an appropriate specialist pathway

- Strong knowledge of current diagnostic radiology practice

- Recent experience working in an acute hospital environment





- Demonstrated ability to provide specialist services within relevant clinical privileges

- Competency across key modalities including CT, MRI, ultrasound and plain X-ray is desirable

- Experience with Tier A interventional procedures, such as basic diagnostic angiography and interventional techniques, is desirable

- Market allowance of $54,000 – $95,000

Position Details

- Location: Hobart, Tasmania

- Employment: Permanent full time

- Hours: Up to 76 hours per fortnight, with hours negotiable

- Roster: Day work with on-call participation

- Commencement: October 2026
