The Position - Product Development Engineer

Based in our purpose-built modern office and distribution facility in Eastern Creek, we have an exciting prospect for an enthusiastic, proactive, and experienced Product Development Engineer to join our collaborative Accessories team.

You will support automotive accessory research and development activities, providing technical analysis and project coordination throughout the accessory development process to ensure high-quality products are delivered to our customers.

Working closely with the Head of Department, Accessory Development, your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

- Develop genuine automotive accessories and support engineering problem-solving initiatives.

- Establish accessory development and research programs, ensuring testing standards and timelines are met by suppliers.

- Review and provide feedback on accessory and vehicle 2D/3D data, drawings, and design documentation.

- Support quality assurance activities and resolve accessory-related issues raised by dealers and customers.

- Support the accessory RFQ process and contribute to supplier selection and business award decisions.

- Establish benchmark pricing for accessories and negotiate costs during the RFQ process where required.

- Expand and manage the supplier network while maintaining a supplier capability matrix.

- Conduct supplier capability and quality audits, including reviews of manufacturing processes and data security requirements.





- Participate in weekly project meetings and provide regular development updates.

- Maintain project documentation and technical records to a high standard.

- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including overseas affiliates, suppliers, and engineering teams.

- Apply continuous improvement principles to enhance product development, quality, and supplier performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Degree qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related discipline).

- Minimum 2 years' experience in automotive product development or a similar engineering environment.

- Bilingual capability in Korean and English is highly regarded.

- Experience using CATIA V5 or similar 3D CAD software.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical evaluation skills.

- Exposure to supplier relationship management and cost negotiation activities.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

- A structured and systematic approach to problem solving.

- Strong attention to detail and documentation control.

- Full Australian Driver Licence.
