About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and systems-focused Inventory Database Administrator to join a well-established, family-owned business operating across the plumbing, bathroom, and building supply sectors on the Sunshine Coast.
Based in Maroochydore, you’ll play a key role in managing the company’s product database, inventory systems, pricing, supplier information, and purchasing processes across multiple sites.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with ERP systems, data, processes, and reporting, while also having the initiative to identify improvements and help teams work more efficiently.
About the Role
As the Inventory Database Administrator, you’ll take ownership of the company’s product database and play an important role in improving inventory and purchasing processes.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and management to ensure product information, pricing, supplier data, and inventory processes are accurate, efficient, and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage and maintain the product database within the company’s ERP system
● Import new products and remove obsolete products
● Analyse supplier price files and prepare and implement price changes
● Import and maintain multi-supplier pricing information
● Maintain preferred supplier listings
● Manage day-to-day inventory issues and enquiries from internal teams
● Develop reporting around inventory and purchasing for management
● Assist with stocktake preparation and management
● Identify opportunities to improve system functionality and business processes
● Develop and maintain clear documentation, procedures, and work instructions
● Support the development of efficient store-based processes and systems
● Provide education and training to staff on relevant processes and systems
● Support potential future initiatives around centralised purchasing
● Maintain strong product knowledge, including through supplier training
● Travel to other company locations as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
● Proven experience in software-based inventory database management, preferably within building products, retail, plumbing, or a similar workplace
● Solid understanding of ERP systems and data management
● Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
● Excellent organisational and analytical abilities
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
● Commercial awareness and an ability to identify opportunities to improve business operations
● A resourceful and proactive approach to solving problems
● Experience with Frameworks ERP would be highly advantageous, but is not essential
● Some software management or IT experience would also be beneficial
● A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider business
