About the Service

Warrawee Care Centre is an Excellent rated, community based, outside of school hours service located in the grounds of Warrawee Public School. The service is licensed for 300 children and operates before and after school care and vacation care. Warrawee Care Centre caters for Warrawee students from kindergarten through to Year 6.

The service operates from its own purposely designed indoor space and have been lucky enough to create a beautiful outdoor environment that we share with the school. The service is part of a very active and supportive community who are involved in many aspects of service operation and are valued for their time and commitment.

About the role

Warrawee Care Centre is seeking an experienced and dedicated director to lead our out of school hours care (OSHC) service.

The director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the service to ensure implementation of, and compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF). In conjunction with the persons in management & control, you will oversee and implement the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, the National Quality Standard (NQS) and the Framework for School Age Care – My Time, Our Place. You will provide a high-quality,



child safe program that supports the safety, learning and wellbeing of all children in care.

You will develop and work alongside a team of competent and passionate educators and through recruitment, orientation and mentoring processes, creating a culture of professional enquiry and reflective practice. Together with the team of educators, you will design, program and evaluate quality learning experiences during before and after school care and vacation care that meet children's physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs.

Alongside the program, you will manage the operational side of the service, including enrolments, family payments, Child Care Subsidy claims and the annual budget, working in partnership with the approved provider. Throughout, you will build genuine, professional partnerships with children, families, educators and the broader school community.

A key part of the role is overseeing assessment and rating process and preparing the staffing team so that all quality areas are consistently met and continuous improvement is embedded in everyday practice.

Above award pay with Worker Retention payments additional. Pay rates will be negotiated based on prior experience and knowledge in the OSHC sector.

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

- Proven leadership experience within a large OSHC or early years setting.

- Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to build quality working relationships.

- Sound organisational, financial and administrative capability.

- A commitment to continuous improvement and best practice.

Essential requirements:

- A current NSW Working with Children Check and eligibility to work in Australia.

- A current police check and relevant pre-employment checks

- Completion of the mandatory national child safety training

- Prior experience as a director of a large service is essential with 5+ years in a previous director role.

- A commitment to prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing, ensuring a child-protected environment.

- Demonstrated ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children, families and educators.

· Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation,

- Possess a working knowledge of NSW Child Safe Standards with a commitment to upholding the Child Safe Code of Conduct.

- Thorough understanding of mandatory reporting obligations under NSW Law.

- The ability to recognise and respond to the indicators of child abuse.

- Current first aid, anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma management qualifications.

- A current, approved child protection training certificate.

- An ACECQA recognised qualification in early childhood, Degree in Education or a relevant OSHC qualification.
