About the Role:
We are seeking two experienced Condition Assessors to undertake inspections of government-owned buildings and associated assets across the Central Queensland region.
This role is similar to carrying out pre-purchase style building inspections,
where you will visually assess the condition of properties, identify defects and maintenance requirements, document risks, and prepare detailed inspection reports supported by photographs and asset records.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site inspections of government buildings and associated assets.
- Identifying defects, deterioration, maintenance needs and potential risks.
- Preparing condition assessment reports and supporting documentation.
- Updating relevant asset and inspection records.
- Providing technical input to support maintenance planning and prioritisation.
You will be responsible for assessing the condition of building elements such as structures, roofs, interiors, exteriors, wet areas, subfloors, visible building services and general property condition. Assessments are highly technology-driven, requiring the use of mobile applications, tablets, laptops and Excel-based reporting systems.
This is a highly scheduled role where you may complete multiple inspections each day while travelling throughout the region, including locations such as Rockhampton, Mackay, Emerald, Moranbah, Biloela, Barcaldine, Longreach and Winton. Regular overnight travel is required, and candidates must be comfortable working independently while maintaining professional standards when assessing occupied government housing.
This opportunity is well suited to candidates from building inspection, facilities management, property maintenance, insurance assessment, construction, trades, asset management or property condition assessment backgrounds.
