About the Centre/Service
Macedon Ranges Montessori Preschool is a vibrant, inclusive community kindergarten providing a quality Montessori kindergarten program to 3 and 4 year old’s in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria. Established in 1985, Macedon Ranges Montessori Preschool is a vibrant, not-for-profit, sessional kinder. We attract families from multiple shires across North Western and Central Victoria. The kinder runs sessions from Mon – Fri each week and we have approx. 40 places, 22 children max attending a day. Our kindergarten provides a holistic educational program that is structured around the Montessori pillars, and which aligns with and is governed by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Our curriculum is Montessori based and incorporates the EYLF. We are committed to the true Montessori approach and adhere to the principles and practices of a Montessori education and our focus is on supporting and extending the children’s interests and strengths to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for a lifetime of learning. Our teachers and team of educators are experienced, enthusiastic, and committed to our children, Montessori programs and the ongoing success of our kindergarten. As a kindergarten we are committed to providing a child safe environment and all staff must demonstrate their ongoing responsibility to ensuring child safety.

Description
A rare and exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Montessori Early Childhood Teacher, that is passionate
and enthusiastic about Montessori in an Early Years educational setting. We are looking for an individual who is
dedicated to providing quality early years education, interactive learning and memorable experiences.
We are looking for an outstanding leader for this role, which will include being the Nominated Supervisor for our
kindergarten. You will work alongside another qualified Montessori ECT and be supported by the existing team of
highly qualified and dedicated Educators to help the kindergarten’s transition into this next exciting phase, lead the
strategic direction of the kinder and ensure that it continues to operate smoothly and to a high standard in all
respects going forward.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Plan and implement a quality educational program in line with the Montessori principals and EYLF
- Record and maintain observations of children’s progress and development
- Contribute to children’s portfolios and weekly reflections
- Working to ensure that the kindergarten continues to meet and exceed its obligations under all National Quality Standards (NQS) and applicable legislation (Fair Work Act, Child Protection Legislation, Work Health and Safety Act, Service Policies and Procedures)
- Being a key contact for the kindergarten for relevant regulatory authorities (Department of Education and Training (DET), Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), Macedon Ranges Shire Council,
- Ensuring the smooth running of the day to day operations of the kindergarten on behalf of the Approved Provider
- Effectively managing the Kindergarten’s various stakeholders (current and prospective families and children and staff, including managing the enrolment process
- Providing feedback regarding performance on a regular, systematic basis and a commitment to ongoing career development
- To assist in preparation, cleanliness, packing away of equipment and materials and safety of the kindergarten in conjunction with all educators.

Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of the Montessori principles and practices (Montessori qualifications preferred)
- A recognised Early Childhood Teaching qualification as approved by ACECQA
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Appropriate Child Safety Training
- Excellent knowledge of NQS and EYLF, EYLF, and Montessori Curriculum
- Current first aid, anaphylaxis, and CPR
- Minimum 3 years of management experience within a kindergarten environment
- Demonstrated leadership ability with teams
- Experience in working unsupervised with a high level of initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, approachable and cooperative
- A strong ability to inspire, motivate and maintain a positive culture within our Kindergarten
- Ability to perform the Nominated Supervisor Role

Key Selection Criteria: 1:.Experience working in an Early Years educational service as a Teacher, with a proven ability in all areas of curriculum development, team leadership and management of staff. 2:Understanding of and ability to implement sound human resources policies and practices relating to OH&S; and staff development, including the day-to-day management of staff, in line with Centre policies. 3: Experience with NQS Assessment and Ratings and understanding of the NQS and related regulatory standards and requirements 4: Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including the capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all staff, parents, and the broader community to focus on children’s learning, wellbeing and engagement. 5: Ability to take on the role of Nominated Supervisor
