Great balance of outdoor and project workThrive in a supportive and motivated team cultureWork in one of Victoria's iconic parksAbout the roleOur Rangers are key to Parks Victoria providing exceptional experiences for visitors to Victoria's parks and reserves. As a Ranger, you are responsible for the on-ground management of Parks Victoria's estate, consistent with organisational priorities, policies and procedures, ensuring that people can enjoy the outdoors and protecting the things that make our parks and reserves so special.About Parks VictoriaParks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria's wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria's coastline. Victoria's parks are home to more than 4,300 native plants and around 1,000 native animal species.We work in partnership with Traditional Owners, government and non-government organisations, private landowners, friends groups, volunteers, licensed tour operators, lessees, research institutes and the broader community to deliver positive environmental, economic and social outcomes for all Victorians.What we're looking for:Someone who is a team-oriented and safety-focused team member who can contribute to positive team culture and effective operational outcomes.Suitable applicants will bring one or more of the following skills or experiences:Willingly cooperates and works collaboratively towards solutions that generally benefit all involved parties and to accomplish organisational objectives.Experience working with and managing stakeholdersA passion for the environmentBudget management and reporting skillsAsset and data collection or transferable planning skills.Hands-on operational capability (such as trade qualifications, vegetation and chainsaw works, roading and plant operation, basic 4WD use, welding, carpentry, or pest plant and animal control).Your application will need to include:A current ResumeA cover letter addressing the Criteria listed below:Plant, chainsaw and machinery operation experience.Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, small equipment and tools.Demonstrated skills in the maintenance and construction of a range of facilities, including, signs, campgrounds, fences and walking tracks.Demonstrated experience in self-management.Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.Application Close date: 06/09/2026Sound like you?For a confidential discussion about the role, contact Andrew Jardine on or apply online!We focus on hiring people who value collaboration and integrity.
