For 81 years, we've achieved success through our ability to innovate, placing a clear emphasis on how we best serve our customers’ needs. As demand continues to grow, we have expanded rapidly, now delivering a superior range of dry goods, frozen and chilled products, fresh seafood and meat, confectionery, paper products, and cleaning solutions.

About this Position
At PFD Food Services, we bring people together through food and behind every delivery, every customer interaction, and every meal shared, there’s a team of passionate people working hard to protect and support our business.
We’re looking for a hands‑on, strategic, and people‑focused DC to lead our Tweed Heads site.
In this role, you’ll oversee the entire distribution centre operation from warehouse and transport to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. You’ll have 5 direct reports (including Day, Afternoon and Night Shift Managers, Transport, Inventory, and Safety & Compliance to name a few), mentor emerging leaders, and partner closely with Sales, Transport, and Finance to ensure the site runs safely, efficiently, and profitably.
This is a role for someone who thrives on pace, complexity, and collaboration. A leader who enjoys the adrenaline of keeping things moving while shaping a strong, engaged, and high‑performing team culture.

- Oversee all warehouse, transport, and inventory activities directly, ensuring accurate picking, loading, dispatch, stock integrity, and on time delivery across all shifts.
- Actively identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, implementing practical process improvements that increase throughput, reduce waste, and lift productivity.
- Manage operational and labour budgets with robust commercial discipline, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Conduct regular floor walks and compliance checks to maintain compliance with HACCP, OH&S;, SQF, and cold chain standards to ensure audit readiness.
- Lead or support key site projects.
- Partner closely with Sales, Transport, and Finance teams to optimise outcomes across the supply chain.
- Build strong relationships with employees, unions, and stakeholders to ensure a stable, collaborative work environment.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Proven end to end supply chain leadership experience, ideally across high volume warehousing, transport, and customer fulfilment operations.
- A strong track record running large and complex DC or logistics sites with 250+ employees, delivering results across multi shift or cold chain environments.
- Exceptional people leadership capability, with the confidence to mentor, coach, and build technical capability within diverse teams.
- Transparent and influential communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Experience operating within a unionised environment, with the ability to build positive working relationships and support a stable industrial climate.
- A continuous improvement mindset, backed by hands on experience delivering measurable efficiency, safety, and service gains.
- A solid technical understanding of HACCP, OH&S;, SQF, and cold storage processes, with a commitment to safe, compliant operations.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing operational budgets, analysing performance metrics, and driving cost control.
- Flexibility to support operational demands, including weekend or public holiday coverage when required to maintain service and site performance.
