JOB TITLE: RECEPTION SUPERVISOR REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER
Main responsibilities include creating staff rotas, training team members, handling customer complaints and serving as the primary point of contact for visitors.
- Team Leadership: Supervising, training and mentoring reception staff, appraisals, managing shifts to ensure adequate cover during all business hours.
- Leading by Example: Greeting patients and being the first point of escalation for complex queries and complaints.
- Operational Oversight: Ensuring the reception area operates efficiently, presenting a professional environment and managing day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Liaising with other staff including clinicians to ensure an excellent patient experience.
- Compliance: Ensuring reception staff adhere to health and safety regulations,
emergency procedures and data protection/confidentiality policies.

- Excellent communication skills, remaining calm under pressure resolving conflicts quickly.
- Robust multitasking and time-management capabilities.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a patient/customer facing role, ideally with prior team leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Computer skills are essential and you will need to be able to step in to the reception role if required, answering the telephone, booking appointments, dealing with tasks, referrals, post (incoming and outgoing) and other key duties.
