JS Careers are pleased to have been instructed on an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a top-tier Australian law firm with a market-leading Private Equity and M&A; offering.

This firm is seeking an ambitious and talented corporate lawyer to join their high-performing Sydney team advising private equity sponsors, institutional investors and corporate clients on a broad range of sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions. You will predominantly be reporting into one Partner but will also have the opportunity to work across the broader Corporate practice.

The Role
n
In this role, the successful candidate can expect to work across a variety of complex matters, including:
n
n
Private equity acquisitions, investments and exits;
n
Private M&A; transactions and public takeovers;
n
Carve-out transactions and consortium acquisitions;
n
Growth capital investments, strategic minority investments and hybrid investment structures;
n
Corporate restructures, governance and general corporate advisory matters; and
n
Corporations Act advice in the context of transactional and corporate matters.

About You




n
To be successful, you will ideally have:
n
n
A Bachelor of Laws degree and holding a current practicing certificate;
n
A minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law, ideally from a top-tier Australian, New Zealand or leading UK law firm;
n
Solid private equity experience, including advising sponsors, investors or portfolio companies as well as solid M&A; experience across a range of complex transactions;
n
A solid understanding of the Corporations Act is beneficial, but not a necessity;
n
Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; and
n
A commercial mindset and a collaborative approach to client service.
