Population Screening and Cancer Prevention (PSCP) service is seeking applications from interested suitably qualified Specialist Breast Radiologists to fill a permanent vacancy.

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative breast radiology specialist who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and contributing to positive health outcomes for the Tasmanian community. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong clinical expertise in breast diagnostic radiology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. The Role

- Provide specialist outpatient breast radiology services and high-quality diagnostic imaging care to patients
- Conduct radiological examinations, interpret findings, and provide expert clinical advice to medical staff
- Contribute to research, and quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery
- Engage in quality assurance activities, peer review, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to teaching and supervision of undergraduate, postgraduate, and trainee medical staff
- Promote patient-centred care, including clear communication and empathetic engagement with patients and families

Salary

Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award

A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.

Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $222,789 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $305,539 with further salary increments available.





- Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $309,222 - $319,701 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award

Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

- Market Allowance of $95,000 pro rata per annum
- Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle (subject to working full-time hours) OR allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $28,786 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $17,483 pro rata per annum.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full-time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as you would like to join our team.

- Holds specialist registration; or
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG)

- Competency in breast imaging including biopsy and localisation procedures

Position Features

- Employment is conditional upon the recommendation of the Credentials and Clinical Privileges Committee that the applicant is able to adequately fulfil the responsibilities of the position
- Staff employed against this Statement of Duties as a Visiting Medical Practitioner will be employed in accordance with the Tasmanian Visiting Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Agreement and remunerated accordingly
