Your Role

n

As a Road Maintenance Officer, you'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for keeping local roads, footpaths and public infrastructure safe, functional and well maintained.

n

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Maintaining and repairing roads, footpaths, kerb and channel, drainage systems and other Council assets
n
- Carrying out minor concreting, asphalt patching and bluestone repairs
n
- Operating civil plant and equipment, including excavators, skid steers, rollers and compactors
n
- Driving MR trucks to transport materials, machinery and equipment between worksites
n
- Responding to road defects and maintenance requests
n
- Installing and maintaining traffic management equipment and signage
n




- Completing pre-start inspections and basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
n
- Following safe work practices, completing work orders and reporting hazards
n
- Working collaboratively with the Road Maintenance team to deliver quality results for the community
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, safety-focused and takes pride in delivering quality work.

n

To be successful, you will have:

n

n
- Current MR (Medium Rigid) Truck Licence - Required
n
- VicRoads 5-year demerit point history - Required
n
- Current Working With Children Check - Required
n
- Current Police Check - Required
n
- Experience in road maintenance, civil construction or infrastructure maintenance
n
- Experience operating civil plant and machinery
n
- Knowledge of asphalt, concrete, drainage and/or road repair works
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
n
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
n

Highly Regarded

n

The following qualifications and experience will also be viewed favourably:

n

n
- Traffic Management qualifications (Stop/Slow, Implement Traffic Management Plan or equivalent)
n
- First Aid Certificate
n
- HR Licence
n
- Confined Space Ticket
n
- Additional civil construction tickets
n

n

Hours & Pay

n

Monday to Friday

n

Generally 7:00am - 3:00pm, with some variation depending on operational requirements.

n

$36.81 per hour + Super

n
