The Role
We are looking for a proactive Finance Officer to support the day-to-day finance function across a broad range of transactional accounting activities. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, corporate card reconciliations, expense management, and other finance administration tasks that keep the business running smoothly.
Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end activities, and delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working across all aspects of transactional finance, takes ownership of their work, and is currently working towards their CPA qualification. If you're organised, detail-oriented, and enjoy being part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What You Bring (Essential Experience)
- 3 – 5+ years' local accounting or finance experience.
- Currently studying towards a CPA qualification.
- Robust experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general transactional accounting.
- Experience processing corporate card and expense reconciliations.
- Exposure to month-end processes, reconciliations, and supporting the general ledger.
- Experience with Xero software.
- Solid Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).
- Robust attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communicator — able to ask the right questions, clarify uncertainties early, and communicate progress and issues clearly.
- Reliable and able to work independently — confident making progress and solving problems autonomously. Able to use time efficiently and manage workload to deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Australian compliance requirements including GST, BAS, Payroll Tax, and FBT.
- Experience with AP automation tools and expense management systems.
- Experience in small to midsize organisations or professional services viewed positively.
- Solutions-focused mentality — proactively identifies issues, proposes practical fixes, and looks for ways to continuously improve processes.
- Exposure to payroll processing or payroll support.
- Experience supporting audits or finance reporting activities.
