The Placement

St Marys is a small township nestled at the foot of the Eastern Tiers on Tasmania’s East Coast — surrounded by national parks, close to some of Tasmania’s most celebrated coastal scenery, and an easy drive from Launceston. A genuine community in one of the most naturally beautiful parts of the state.

Ochre Medical Centre St Marys is a general practice operating Monday to Friday, delivering a full range of primary care services including men’s and women’s health, paediatrics, aged care, vaccinations, skin cancer medicine, antenatal care and chronic disease management.

The practice is co-located with a Tier 2 hospital providing acute and sub-acute care and an emergency department. As the GPVMO, you’ll cover ED shifts here. On-call is shared across the VMO team, with your roster confirmed ahead of your block.

The Essentials

- Fellowship with RACGP and/or ACRRM
- Current AHPRA Specialist GP Registration
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Current ALS2 (or equivalent)
- Recent emergency experience within the last 18 months
