Field Service Technician – Mechanical Fitter

The Opportunity

n

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Service Technician to join our service team.

n

This role is ideally suited to a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who enjoys both hands‐on technical work and direct customer interaction. The successful applicant will work on specialised food processing and packaging equipment throughout Australasia.

n

This is not an entry-level technician position. We are seeking someone who can work independently, troubleshoot complex machinery faults and represent our company professionally at customer sites.

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Installation and commissioning of new processing and packaging equipment
n
- Mechanical assembly, alignment and machine upgrades
n
- Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
n
- Fault finding across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electro‐mechanical systems
n
- Machine inspections and condition reporting
n
- Customer training and technical support
n
- Preparation of service reports and maintenance documentation
n
- Liaising directly with customers and overseas equipment manufacturers
n
- Interstate and international travel
n

Applicants without the following will not be considered:

n

n
- Australian Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Trade (or equivalent recognised trade qualification)
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Technician or Field Service Engineer
n
- Strong mechanical fault‐finding and troubleshooting experience
n
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation
n
- Experience with machinery installation, commissioning and maintenance
n
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
n
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Australia and New Zealand
n
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
n

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

- Food processing equipment
n
- Packaging machinery
n
- Poultry, meat or seafood processing plants
n
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
n
- International field service experience
n
- Working at Heights
n
- Confined Space Entry
n
- First Aid certification
n
- Machine alignment and precision fitting
n
- Shutdown maintenance experience
