About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team in Truganina.

n

You will be responsible for keeping our fleet of prime movers and refrigerated trailers safe, reliable and ready for operation.

n

The role is primarily focused on preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding and mechanical repairs, with the goal of minimising breakdowns and keeping the fleet on the road.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles and trailers.
n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and defects.
n
- Complete repairs to engines, driveline, brakes, suspension and steering systems.
n
- Inspect vehicles and trailers and identify potential issues before they become major faults.
n
- Investigate mechanical issues reported by drivers and operations staff.
n
- Maintain refrigerated trailers and identify mechanical defects.
n
- Ensure all vehicles and trailers remain safe,



roadworthy and compliant.
n
- Complete maintenance records and service documentation accurately.
n
- Follow all company WHS/OHS and workshop safety procedures.
n
- Communicate effectively with the Fleet Manager, Operations team and drivers.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n
- A recognised Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic trade qualification.
n
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
n
- Strong preventative maintenance and fault-finding skills.
n
- Good knowledge of heavy vehicle braking, suspension, steering and driveline systems.
n
- A solid commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Good attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
n
- A current Australian driver's licence.
