Experienced Barista – High Volume Café | Casual or Full-Time

About the role

n

We are looking for experienced Baristas to join our team at Mountain View Cafe, located within the beautiful Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, approximately 20–30 minutes from Caloundra.

n

We are recruiting now so we can strengthen our team ahead of the busy spring and summer months, and depending on applicant availability, we may have multiple positions available.

n

We are a busy, high-volume venue with a solid coffee trade, so this role is best suited to someone who is genuinely confident behind the machine and can move quickly through busy services while maintaining quality and consistency.

n

We have flexibility around the number of hours available and would consider both casual and full-time applicants for the right fit.

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages
n
- Working efficiently on the coffee machine during high-volume services
n
- Dialling in grinders and making adjustments throughout the day to maintain consistent extraction
n
- Maintaining consistent milk texture, coffee quality and presentation, even during peak periods
n
- Delivering friendly and efficient customer service
n
- Assisting with cashiering and other front-of-house duties as required
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked coffee station
n
- Working closely with the wider team to keep service running smoothly
n
- Being willing to jump into other areas of the cafe when needed
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Strong commercial barista experience, ideally 2+ years in a similarly busy environment
n




- Confident jumping straight onto the machine and handling high-volume service
n
- Able to work quickly without sacrificing coffee quality or consistency
n
- Confident dialling in grinders, monitoring extraction and making adjustments when required
n
- Strong milk texturing skills and the ability to consistently produce quality coffee and latte art
n
- Good understanding of espresso, extraction and commercial coffee equipment
n
- Calm, organised and efficient during peak periods
n
- Friendly, approachable and reliable
n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
n
- Happy to assist in other areas of the cafe when required
n
- Someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and working as part of a team
n

Availability & roster

n

We can be flexible around the total number of hours depending on what the right candidates are looking for.

n

We are ideally looking for people who can work a mixture of weekdays and weekends, with at least some weekend availability.

n

Roster consistency is highly valued. While there will always be some flexibility, we would particularly love to hear from applicants who can commit to a fairly regular pattern of days each week.

n

Depending on availability and experience,



we may have opportunities ranging from a couple of regular shifts each week through to full-time hours for the right person.

n

As we are building our team ahead of the busier summer period, multiple positions may be available.

Mountain View Cafe is located within the stunning Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, overlooking the Glass House Mountains.

n

We are a large, busy destination cafe serving high-quality coffee, fresh food and in-house baked goods in a warm and welcoming environment.

n

Our coffee section can get genuinely busy, so we are looking for people who enjoy that pace, know their way around a commercial machine and take pride in producing consistently good coffee no matter how many orders are coming through.

n
