Annual salary $93,577.06 - $100,063.55 pro rata to hours worked (0.8 FTE) + Statutory Superannuation

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused Community Engagement Officer to join our Library Services team.
n

Working within our Community Resources and Engagement Team, you'll help deliver innovative programs and services that support lifelong learning, inclusion and community wellbeing.

The Role
n
Reporting to the Community Resources & Engagement Lead, you'll work collaboratively across Library Services, Council teams and with community partners to deliver high-quality programs that respond to the evolving needs of our community.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Planning, coordinating and delivering community programs and events.
n
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with community groups, facilitators and key stakeholders.
n
- Supporting facilitators to deliver engaging and successful programs.
n
- Monitoring participation, gathering feedback and evaluating program outcomes.
n
- Working with Council's communications team to promote programs and services.
n
- Providing exceptional customer service and responding to community enquiries.
n
- Supporting day-to-day library operations, including opening and closing procedures and customer service as required.
n
n
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines community engagement, program delivery and frontline customer service.
n
About You
n
You are an organised, proactive and collaborative qualified who enjoys working with people and making a positive contribution to your community.
n
You will also possess the following skills and experience:
n
n
- Experience planning and delivering community programs or events
n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
n
- Strong project management and organisational abilities
n
- Working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
n
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
n
- Managing resources efficiently
n
- Understanding of diverse community needs
n
- Ability to problem solve and make informed decisions
n
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
n
- National Police Clearance (willingness to obtain through Council processes)
n
- DHS Working with Children Check (willingness to obtain through Council processes)
n
- Current driver's licence
n
- The ability to analyse feedback and use data to improve programs and services (desirable)
n
- Grant writing or fundraising (desirable)
n
n
Experience in community development, libraries, local government, education, not-for-profit or community services will be highly regarded.
n
The successful applicant will work across Council library sites and may be required to attend community events and activities outside standard business hours and during the weekend.
