The Australian poultry industries face increasing risks from emergency animal diseases and other biosecurity threats. To support industry preparedness and response capability, Australian Eggs is seeking a Biosecurity Project Officer to join its growing Risk Program team.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting to the Manager - EAD Preparedness, the Biosecurity Project Officer will support projects and extension to industry to strengthen biosecurity and emergency animal disease preparedness across the Australian egg industry.
n
Combining project management, stakeholder engagement and technical coordination, key responsibilities include:
n
n
- Managing biosecurity and food safety projects within the Risk Program
n
- Supporting RD&E; activities focused on preparedness and resilience
n
- Project management, coordinating timelines, reporting, deliverables and stakeholder communication
n
- Preparing reports and presentations for industry, government and technical audiences
n
- Collaborating with farmers, veterinarians, researchers, consultants and government agencies
n
- Representing Australian Eggs in EAD preparedness and response activities
n
n
About You
n
The successful candidate will bring:
n
n
- Strong project management across multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines
n
- Experience in biosecurity, animal health, livestock, or a related field. Poultry will be a noted advantage.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across industry and government
n
- Experience supporting research, innovation or extension projects
n
- Excellent written communication and reporting skills
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant related experience
n
n
You will be proactive, flexible, organised and able to balance technical detail with practical project delivery across diverse stakeholder groups.
n
