Programmed Apprenticeships & Traineeships, in partnership with Port Waratah Coal Services, are looking for the next generation of Mechanical apprentices to join their 2027 Apprenticeship Programme commencing in January 2027.
n
As the world's largest coal export terminal and a key part of the Hunter Valley Coal Chain, Port Waratah offers the opportunity to develop highly sought-after trade skills while working with industry-leading equipment and technology in a supportive team-based environment.

Inherent Requirements
n
n
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
n
- Hold a current driver's licence, or be willing to obtain one in 2027
n
- Completion of Year 10 by the end of 2026
n
- Successfully pass a pre‐employment medical including drug and alcohol and colour vision assessment
n
- Reside within approximately one hour of a Port Waratah site
n
- Be willing to complete an 18‐week Mining and Energy Skills Program in Muswellbrook (accommodation provided)
n
n
Complete all application questions
n Current students/recent school leavers (within the last 2 years) must provide their 2 most recent school reports
n Incomplete applications will not progress.
n
