Mechanical Designer / Design Draftsperson – SolidWorks

for an established engineering and manufacturing business based on the Gold Coast.

n

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer / Design Draftsperson who enjoys practical design and wants to see their work go from concept through to finished product.

n

The Role

n

Working closely with engineering and fabrication, you'll be involved in:

n

n
- 3D modelling and detailed drafting using SolidWorks
n
- Design of truck bodies, transport equipment, vehicle fit-outs and fabricated products
n
- New product development and prototype builds
n
- Producing fabrication, manufacturing and assembly drawings
n
- Improving and modifying existing designs
n
- Maintaining drawing revisions, part numbers and technical documentation
n
- Working directly with the workshop to resolve design and fabrication queries
n
- Supporting quality and continuous improvement
n
- Liaising with local and offshore manufacturing partners
n

About You

n

You'll ideally have:

n

n
- Strong SolidWorks capability
n
- Mechanical design or drafting experience within manufacturing
n




- Valuable knowledge of fabrication, welding, sheet metal and/or structural steel
n
- Experience producing practical, buildable manufacturing drawings
n
- Strong attention to detail and document control
n

n

Experience with truck bodies, trailers, commercial vehicles, transport equipment, racking or fabricated products will be highly regarded.
