Position Profile and Role

We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team.

This position is a specialist role, which provides an effective clinical function. As a consequence, the position holder influences the practice of nursing in allocated clinical area/s. In consultation with the team clinical lead provides clinical consultation to the multidisciplinary team and care providers in the areas of speciality.

Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital delivering high-quality aged care, mental health, rehabilitation, planned surgery and medical services. Supporting the tertiary and quaternary services of Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital provides a broad range of specialist care across areas including orthopaedics, general and plastic surgery, ENT, specialised hand surgery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular, endoscopy, dental and maxillofacial, and women’s health services.

South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Mental Health delivers comprehensive public mental health care through a network of community mental health services, hospitals and community health centres. Across Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Mental Health (FSFH Mental Health) and Peel and Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health (PaRK Mental Health), specialist services are provided across the South Metropolitan region, supporting consumers with accessible, collaborative and high-quality mental health care.



SMHS Mental Health will soon open a new state-of-the-art facility at Fremantle Hospital designed to offer expanded and modern mental health services for our community. The three-storey space will provide an additional 40 mental health beds and a 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Centre, ensuring compassionate and innovative care for those who need it most.

The Office of the Victorian Health and Hospital Administrator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Act. The Commonwealth Parliament has the responsibility for maintaining a consistent framework. Responsibilities include the coordination of health services, promotion of health and safety practices, educating the public about health issues and consulting with stakeholders to improve products and services.

WHHS has the primary responsibility for developing the policy and program for the prevention and control of workplace health and safety.
