Child Care Worker - Group Leader Position

Lead, support and inspire children through Montessori education

n

Armidale Montessori Preschool is seeking an experienced and passionate Child Care Worker -Group Leaderto join our Exceeding-rated, Montessori preschool.

n

This position combines hands-on education and care of children with responsibility for supporting the day-to-day operation of our preschool classroom. Working collaboratively with the Centre Director and educational team, you will play a key role in delivering our specialised Montessori program while supporting the learning, wellbeing and development of children aged 2–6 years.

About the Role

n

As the Child Care Worker – Group Leader you will:

n

n
- Provide high-quality education and care for children in accordance with the Montessori philosophy, the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework.
n
- Design engaging, child-led learning experiences that promote independence and holistic development.
n
- Supervise, engage and interact with children through meaningful learning experiences that support their individual development.
n
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, personal care, rest and transitions throughout the day.
n
- Observe children's learning and development and contribute to documentation and individual learning plans.
n
- Prepare, maintain and present Montessori learning materials and ensure the classroom environment remains safe, organised and engaging.
n
- Foster children's independence, confidence, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
n
- Build positive relationships with children,



families and colleagues through respectful and professional communication.
n
- Support and mentor educators working within the preschool room and assist with the coordination of daily routines.
n
- Undertake curriculum planning, reflective practice and continuous quality improvement.
n
- Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, Child Secure Standards and service policies and procedures.

Applicants must have:

n

n
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or a higher approved early childhood qualification.
n
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating an early childhood classroom.
n
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
n
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
n
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills.
n
- A sound understanding of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and Child Safe Standards.
n
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality early childhood education.
n
- Experience in a Montessori setting or recognised Montessori training or qualification is strongly preferred.
n




- Demonstrated experience leading a Montessori classroom.
n
- Experience mentoring or supporting educators.
n
- Knowledge of Early Works (or similar documentation platforms).
n
- Experience supporting children with additional needs.
n
- Experience supporting children from diverse nationalities.
n
