Your new organisation is an established structural steel construction company based in Melbourne's western suburbs, fabricating structural steelwork for construction projects across Victoria. With an experienced trade team and a solid reputation for quality workmanship, they're now looking to a Boilermaker to their busy workshop.

Sunshine West location

n

$44.00 – $48.00+ p/h (depending on skills and experience)

n

Casual — direct employment with the client from day one, genuine ongoing work

n

6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday schedule

n

Join an established, experienced trade team in a busy structural steel workshop

n

Hands-on fabrication role working with structural steel (mild steel)

n

What you'll be doing:

n

n
- MIG welding structural steel components to a high standard
n
- Marking out and setting out fabrications from drawings to tight tolerances
n
- Fitting and assembling beams, columns, cleats,



base plates and trusses — tacking up square and true before weld-out
n
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, weld symbols and cutting lists
n
- Managing distortion control and weld sequencing on larger fabrications
n
- Working independently from shop drawings with minimal supervision
n
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshop
n

To be considered for this role:

n

n
- Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent
n
- Ability to pass a practical weld test as part of the selection process
n
- Confident reading structural steel/fabrication drawings
n
- Physically capable of sustained hands‐on trade work
n
- Background in structural steel fabrication highly regarded
n
- Overhead crane, forklift, or dogging/rigging tickets highly regarded but not essential
n
