About the role
n
We are seeking an experienced OHS skilled looking to advance their career on a part-time basis (0.8EFT). An exciting time to come on board as we are in a phase of significant growth and will offer the right candidate the opportunity to make their mark in our hospital.

Reporting to the Executive, you will drive a positive safety culture by engaging all workers to take a proactive approach to their own safety.
n
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
n
n
- Supporting the organisations OHS Management System by developing, implementing and maintaining local procedures including safe operating procedures
n
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote awareness of OHS improvement activities
n
- Coordinating and overseeing the management of workplace injuries and illnesses, including liaising with medical professionals and insurers
n
- Guiding and educating managers and other staff with regard to OHS, including workplace inspections etc and Injury management/return to work matters
n
- Undertaking risk assessments, audits etc to identify potential hazards and process and system issues, and implementing preventative measures to reduce risk.
n
- Developing and delivering OHS related training programs
n
- Coordination of OHS, Radiation Safety and Emergency Management committee's
n
- Demonstrated experience in the health care sector with sound knowledge of relevant ACHS accreditation standards will be highly regarded.
n
n
As the successful candidate you will have:
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications and evidenced experience in OHS/WHS
n
- Cert IV Training & Assessment
n
- Experience in the management of WorkCover claims
n
- Strong knowledge of OHS Legislation
n
- Demonstrated skills in Incident reporting and investigation principles, including regulatory reporting
n
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with internal and external stakeholders
n
- The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of a current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
