Procurement Officer

Commercial Procurement, Supplier Management, Sourcing & Negotiation

If you're a procurement professional who enjoys getting behind the numbers, challenging suppliers, negotiating better commercial outcomes and finding smarter ways to secure supply, this could be a very interesting next move.

We're working with a well-established, global organisation within the packaging and manufacturing sector to appoint a commercially minded Procurement Officer.

n

What you'll actually be doing

n

You'll work directly with suppliers to:

n

n
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, MOQs and commercial terms
n
- Manage and develop key supplier relationships
n
- Source new and alternative suppliers
n
- Run supplier quotes, tenders and commercial reviews
n
- Challenge and negotiate supplier price increases
n
- Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, service and delivery
n
- Identify and mitigate supply risks before they become problems
n
- Work closely with Supply Planning, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, Operations and Finance
n
- Analyse supplier pricing, spend, performance and market movements
n
- Support new business opportunities through competitive sourcing
n
- Drive supplier improvement and corrective actions
n
- Contribute to procurement projects, process improvement and ERP/data initiatives
n

In other words, you'll have genuine influence over what the business buys, who it buys it from and what it pays.

n





We're interested in procurement professionals who have already had exposure to commercial supplier management and negotiation.

n

We're looking for approximately 3-5 years' relevant experience, ideally gained within:

n

n
- Procurement / purchasing
n
- Manufacturing
n
- Packaging
n
- FMCG / consumer goods
n
- Distribution / wholesale
n
- Supply chain
n
- Logistics
n
- Another commercially focused supplier environment
n

n

You don't necessarily need packaging experience.

n

What's more important is that you can demonstrate:

n

n
- You've negotiated with suppliers - not just ordered from them
n
- You're comfortable challenging pricing and commercial terms
n
- You can build robust supplier relationships while still holding suppliers accountable
n
- You understand lead times, supply risk, quality and service
n
- You're commercially and analytically minded
n
- You're confident working with ERP systems and Excel
n
- You can manage multiple suppliers, projects and priorities
n
