Work with Solid Timber on Specialist Architectural & Heritage Projects

We are a family-owned and run timber manufacturing business based in Wetherill Park, specialising in high-quality solid timber windows, doors, architectural joinery and heritage components.

n

We are looking for an experienced Solid Timber Machinist to join our team.

n

This is a hands-on skilled position for someone who understands solid timber and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality components.

n

The Skills We Need

n

The successful applicant will have solid experience working with solid timber and be confident operating and setting up:

n

n
- 4-sided moulder
n
- Spindle moulder
n
- Thicknesser
n
- Jointer
n

n

You will also need to be able to:

n

n
- Straighten and flatten rough-sawn timber
n
- Prepare timber accurately for machining
n
- Laminate solid timber components
n
- Set and change knives, cutters and tooling
n
- Set machine dimensions and feed rates
n
- Machine different timber species, sizes and profiles
n
- Read drawings and work to specifications
n
- Check dimensions and profiles throughout production
n
- Identify and resolve machining issues
n
- Maintain consistent quality
n

About You

n

You are an experienced solid timber machinist who can work independently and understands that good timber preparation and accurate machining are critical to the finished product.

n

You will have:

n

n
- Robust hands-on experience with solid timber
n
- Proven experience setting up and operating a 4-sided moulder
n




- Experience with spindle moulders, thicknessers and jointers
n
- A good understanding of timber species, grain and machining characteristics
n
- Excellent measuring skills and attention to detail
n
- The ability to read drawings and work to specifications
n
- Good practical problem-solving skills
n
- A strong commitment to quality and safety
n
- A reliable and responsible work ethic
n

n

Experience with timber windows and doors, architectural joinery, detailed mouldings or heritage work will be highly regarded.

n
