Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join their team in Altona North, Victoria.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
- Perform welding using MIG, TIG, and/or ARC welding techniques as required.
- Prepare, cut, fit, align, and assemble metal components for welding.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery safely.
- Inspect welded joints and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Measure materials and components using appropriate hand and measuring tools.
- Identify and repair welding defects, cracks, and other fabrication issues.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Work with different types of metals,
including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
- Complete welding and fabrication tasks within required timeframes and quality standards.
- Report equipment faults, material issues, and safety concerns to supervisors.
Requirements
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
- At least 12 months of relevant experience as a Welder
- Competency in MIG welding
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Valuable attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of workplace safety standards and safe work practices.
