Practice Nurse Responsibilities

n

Clinical Nursing Duties

n

n
- Childhood, flu and travel immunisations
n
- Wound care and assistance with minor procedures
n
- ECG, Holter monitoring, Spirometry and Audiometry
n
- Ear syringing, iron infusions and venesection
n
- Patient triage and clinical assessments
n
- Infection control and equipment sterilisation
n

n

Chronic Disease & Preventative Health

n

n
- Chronic Disease Management (CDM) support
n
- Care Plans, Health Assessments and patient education
n
- Managing recalls and results using HotDocs
n

n

Essential Criteria

n

n
- Current AHPRA Registered Nurse (RN) registration
n
- Current CPR, First Aid & Immunisation Certificate
n
- Experience or interest in general practice nursing
n
- Strong communication, organisation and time‐management skills
n
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
n
- Knowledge of Best Practice software (or similar GP systems) preferred but not mandatory
n
- Australian permanent residency or citizenship
n

Desirable (Not Essential)

n

n
- Previous experience as a Practice Nurse or Primary Care Nurse
n
- Familiarity with GP accreditation standards
n

n
