Solicitor I-III (General) – NSW Trustee and Guardian

- 2 x Temporary full-time vacancies available for up to 12 months, with possibility for extension. 35 hours per week.
- Location: These roles are based at our Sydney Office with a requirement to work from the office a minimum of three (3) days per week and up to two (2) days working from home per week.
- Grade Level: Legal Officer GR I-III. Base salary $81,702 p.a. to $138,492 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading.

About The Role
We have multiple temporary full-time vacancies available for up to 12 months, with possibility for extension. There are roles available in the Estate Management and Project Team practice groups.
NSW Trustee and Guardian are seeking capable solicitors to provide high-quality legal advice,
litigation support and practical solutions across areas including financial management, guardianship, succession and trusts.
You will work with autonomy, support vulnerable clients, interpret complex legal issues and contribute to meaningful public service outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity that will see you manage assigned legal matters, including advice, transactions and litigation, within a specialist practice group, to deliver high-quality, cost‑effective and customer‑focused legal services that support the agency’s purpose and functions.
The Estate Management Practice Group is primarily responsible for appearing in Supreme Court Protective List proceedings and matters before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, as well as managing a broad range of legal matters affecting customers whose estates are under management, including equitable remedies, personal injury, family law and administrative law.
The Project Team supports both practice groups providing technical advice and support for complex legal matters or issues and undertakes individual, and groups of matters related to both functions.

About You
As a Solicitor, you will have highly developed legal skills and experience to manage assigned matters within the relevant practice area. The role requires the ability to appear before courts and tribunals and to manage complex, contentious and sensitive legal and administrative matters.
- You are a confident solicitor with sound legal judgement, strong communication skills and a commitment to ethical, client-focused service.
- You enjoy solving complex problems, managing varied legal matters and providing clear, practical advice.
- You possess the ability to maintain knowledge across a wide range of relevant areas of law to meet increasing demand for services and respond to competing and urgent demands.
- You are motivated by public purpose, enjoy varied legal work and take pride in delivering practical advice that supports fair, client-focused outcomes for the people of NSW.
- You are motivated by meaningful work and want to use your legal skills to support and protect people at important moments in their lives.

Essential Requirements
- Completion of a law degree from an accredited law school or completion of the Legal Practitioners Admission Board’s Diploma in Law Course.
- Admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW and have a current NSW practicing certificate.
