Job Description
n
Confession: we think part-time work should actually fit around your life.
n
Not "part-time, but somehow available all the time."
n
Not "flexible... as long as you work the days we want."
n
Actually flexible.
n
We're looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join Ability Action Australia in North Tasmania, working part-time hours that make sense for you.
n
Maybe you're looking for better balance. Maybe you want to keep doing work that matters without work taking over everything else. Or maybe three or four days a week simply suits your life beautifully.
n
Whatever the reason, we'd love to talk.
n
What will you actually be doing?
n
You'll work alongside people with disability, their families and support networks to create meaningful, practical change.
n
Your days might include:
n
n
- Developing and delivering evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans
n
- Creating meaningful goals and practical strategies using a Positive Behaviour Support framework
n
- Working towards the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices
n
- Building the skills and confidence of families, carers, friends and other important people in a participant's life
n
- Advocating for the people you support and helping their voices be heard
n
- Collaborating with a genuinely multidisciplinary allied health team
n
n
In short: valuable clinical work, meaningful relationships and outcomes that actually matter.
n
A Little About You
n
You'll have:
n
n
- A degree qualification in an allied health discipline such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Social Work
n
- Experience developing, implementing and reviewing Behaviour Support Plans
n
- Proficient, Advanced or Specialist status as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner
n
- A genuine passion for working within the disability sector
n
n
And ideally, you're someone who likes having autonomy while still knowing there's a great team behind you.
n
What do you get?
n
Because if you're spending your working week supporting other people, we should be supporting you too.
n
Benefits
n
n
- Choose the hours and days that work for you.
n
- Generous base salary + car allowance + phone + laptop + salary packaging, including novated leasing.
n
- A mix of working from home, our office/clinic and out in the community.
n
- Professional development and career opportunities across Ability Action Australia and the broader MedHealth group.
n
- A warm, purpose-driven team that takes the work seriously — without needing to take ourselves seriously every minute of the day.

n
Sound like your kind of role?
n
Then I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
