The Category Buying team partners closely with Planning to curate exciting, customer-first ranges that drive sales, maximise profit and stay ahead of the curve. From spotting emerging trends to building forward-thinking assortments, the team plays a key role in delivering a platform of choice for customers.
Working closely with Finance, Operations and teams across the wider business, Commercial helps bring strategy to life — ensuring smart decisions are made, forecasts are accurate and the future of fashion is delivered every day.
We are currently looking for a Garment Technician to join the Own Brand team.
What's involved...
- Create initial Tech Packs in collaboration with Design for sample development, including detailed garment construction instructions, measurements and fabric requirements.
- Measure garments and provide feedback on quality and make, ensuring suppliers adhere to established fit and make standards.
- Organise and lead fit sessions to ensure consistent fit and sizing.
- Support Designers by providing expert knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and performance.
- Liaise daily with suppliers in China regarding fit comments, re-fits, fabrics, finishes and grading.
- Meet critical path deadlines.
- Approve fabric test reports.
- Complete final bulk garment inspection approvals in accordance with established guidelines.
- Analyse styles with high return rates to continuously improve fit and quality.
- Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and maintain high-quality standards.
About You...
- 3–4 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the fast fashion industry.
- Tertiary education in design, pattern making and grading is essential.
- Strong knowledge of garment production processes, including pattern making, fit, quality control and fabric testing.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of quality.
- Experience working across a variety of fabrics and categories is essential.
- Knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent understanding of critical paths and timelines, with strong time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
