Their in-home services support participants with personal care, daily living activities and practical assistance, helping them feel safe, comfortable and supported within their own homes.

Position Purpose
n
The purpose of the casual PCA is to provide personal care services to clients within the security and comfort of their own homes.
n
Main Duties/Responsibilities
n
Service Delivery – Personal Care
n
n
- Assist with showering/bathing
n
- Assist with dressing/grooming
n
- Assist with toileting/continenc_management
n
- Assist with meal preparation
n
n
Service Delivery – Other
n
n
- Assist with socialisation /companionship
n
- Assist with light domestic assistance
n
- Assist with spring cleaning duties
n
- Assist with lifting, moving and positioning of clients into wheelchairs, trolleys, chairs, commodes and beds.
n
- Maintain client confidentiality
n
- Provide accurate and timely feedback
n
- Client condition
n
- Any accidents/incidents
n
- Work availability
n
- Liaise with medical personnel from time to time
n
n
Sales and Marketing
n
n
- Promote Western Care Services wherever appropriate
n
- Promote Western Care Services with a positive attitude
n

Requirements
n
KEY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
n
Skills
n
n
- Ability to assist clients with their activities of daily living
n
- Ability to apply knowledge and skills within a given work environment to ensure the safest outcomes for both client and staff member
n
- Safe use of aids and appliances including but not limited to; lifting machines, electric beds, ad mobility aids
n
- Interpersonal communications skills both written and oral
n
- Proactive and empathetic service delivery
n
- The ability to work effectively with clients from a range of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
n
- Ability to work unsupervised as well within a team workplace
n
n
KNOWLEDGE
n
n
- Understanding of NDIS, Community Care/Home Based Services
n
- Demonstrated commitment to the needs of people living with disability. This includes awareness of service standards and relevant legislative requirements.
n
- Demonstrated knowledge/understanding of OH&S; particularly in relation to heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
n
n
Preferred Qualification
n
n
- Relevant Industry Training – minimum Cert 3 in Individualised Support
n
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR qualification
n
- NDIS Infection Control and PPE Training
n
n
