Employment Consultant – Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) - Southport, QLD

Afford's high-quality disability services are expanding under Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA), and we're looking for an Employment Consultant to support people with disability to secure meaningful and sustainable employment.
n
This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with clients, employers and community stakeholders to create opportunities, remove barriers and help people achieve their employment goals.

About the role
n
n
- Manage a caseload of participants and provide person-centred employment support
n
- Support clients to build capacity, confidence and job readiness to achieve sustainable employment
n
- Partner with employers and internal teams to create successful and inclusive employment pathways
n
- Play a key role in delivering positive employment outcomes under the IEA program
n
n
What you will do
n
n
- Provide exceptional, person-centred support to clients to assist them in securing sustainable employment
n
- Support clients with resume development, job applications, interview preparation and workplace readiness
n
- Identify barriers to employment and connect clients with appropriate internal and external supports
n
- Complete assessments, including risk assessments, and identify job customisation opportunities
n
- Collaborate with employers to create inclusive workplaces and implement reasonable workplace adjustments
n
- Provide intensive post-placement and ongoing support to clients and employers to maximise employment retention
n
- Maintain accurate and compliant case notes, records and documentation within required systems and timeframes
n
- Work collaboratively with Vocational Counsellors, Business Development Consultants, Senior Employment Consultants and Area Managers to achieve sustainable outcomes
n
- Collect and maintain evidence required for employment outcomes, wage subsidies and program compliance
n
- Engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote Afford's employment services and support participant registrations
n
- Monitor progress against KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement, quality service delivery and compliance requirements
n
- Stay informed of IEA guidelines, compliance frameworks and best-practice employment support approaches
n
n
What you will bring
n
n
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Services, Employment Services or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
n
- Experience working with people with disability, employment services or within the human services sector
n
- Strong case management skills and the ability to support clients to achieve meaningful employment outcomes
n
- Experience working towards and achieving targets and KPIs
n
- High-level interpersonal and relationship-building skills with clients, employers and stakeholders
n
- Demonstrated ability to work within a person-centred framework and apply the principles of social justice
n
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and communication skills
n
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
n
- Strong administration and technology skills, including experience using client management systems and Microsoft Office applications
n
- Ability to adapt, prioritise and manage competing demands in a rapid-paced environment
n
- Current, full driver's licence
n
- Access to a fully registered and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for work-related travel
n
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one
n
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
n
- Willingness to complete a National Police Check through Afford's pre-employment compliance process
n
