The Bendigo District RSL is seeking a qualified Full-Time Chef, with above award pay rate based on skill and experience to join our team.

TheBendigo District RSL is a busy club with a large kitchen and offers quality dining experiences within its bistro, function rooms and sports bar. We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, using fresh, local and seasonal produce. The successful applicant must be fully qualified, have a passion for food, an eye for detail and have pride in everything they do.

You should be willing to work both in a team setting and autonomously. You must be a team player who is highly professional, motivated, have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Key responsibilities for this position include

n

n
- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard and maintaining consistent quality, presentation and portion sizes to minimise wastage
n
- Developing new and innovative recipes
n
- Ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times
n
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies.



Stock control and stock rotation
n
- Operate and monitor ovens, grills, fryers and other commercial cooking equipment
n
- Collaborating with other members of the team to deliver an exceptional dining experience including training and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff and other team members when required
n

The position requires

- The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment.
n
- Have a right to work in Australia
n
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
n
- Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a similar role with references
n
- Must be fully available over a 7-day roster
n
- Be able to work under pressure
n
- Be a team player
n
- Highly organised and efficient
n

The candidate must also have strong communication skills, show attention to detail, and be well presented and punctual.
