We are seeking to establish a pool of Inclusive Learning Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School

Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. We serve students from surrounding suburbs including Carramar and Tapping. The Role

Working primarily with students on the autism spectrum and students with a range of additional learning needs,



the suitable applicants will ideally play a pivotal role in supporting students to achieve meaningful success throughout their secondary schooling and beyond. The Learning Hub provides students with opportunities to access a rigorous and engaging curriculum while developing the skills, confidence and independence required to achieve their individual goals. Suitable applicants would be outstanding classroom practitioners who can design and deliver purposeful, differentiated learning experiences that meet students at their point of need while maintaining a clear focus on progression and achievement. They should ideally display a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and the ability to adapt learning programs to support students from foundational skill development through to Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) pathways where appropriate.

Suitable applicants will ideally possess a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies for students with autism and additional learning needs and display the flexibility to adapt their practice as students develop. They will ideally be skilled in supporting students to achieve their personal best through authentic learning opportunities, and the use of innovative approaches that promote engagement and independence.

Skills and experience

- Knowledge and application of Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communicationhandicapped Children (TEACCH) methodologies.
- Experience implementing Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Positive BehaviourSupport (PBS) approaches.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with external agencies to support student outcomes.
